On September 11, local time, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said that a newest wildfire spread rapidly in the mountains of central California.

Many places in northern and central California are threatened by wildfires, and a large number of residents have been ordered to evacuate.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said the wildfire swept through the Sierra Nevada region northeast of San Francisco, and in just a few days, the fire area had exceeded 160 square kilometers.

Wildfires cover parts of Eldorado and Placer counties in northern California, and only 10% of the fires are currently under control.

The fire department said planes and helicopters were assisting people on the ground to put out the fire.

Smoke from the wildfire has blanketed much of the northern Sierra Nevada.

California health officials are urging residents in affected areas to stay indoors as much as possible.

Other parts of the western United States were also hit by wildfires.

At least 18 fires are currently burning in Oregon and Washington state, causing the evacuation of residents near Portland, Ore., and power outages in some affected areas.
