Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is expected to sign an export contract for the FA-50 domestic light attack aircraft with the Polish government this week.

It was confirmed that KAI President Kang Goo-young departed for Poland through Incheon International Airport on the afternoon of the 13th and concluded final negotiations and contracts for the export of the FA-50.

A key KAI official said, "The export of 48 FA-50s, worth KRW 3 trillion, is the largest in the history of FA-50 exports.

Following Poland, the FA-50 will also be exported to Malaysia.

A KAI official said, "The negotiations for the export of 18 FA-50s, worth 1 trillion won to Malaysia are also imminent.

The combined export volume of FA-50s to Poland and Malaysia exceeds the total number of FA-50 exports in the past, including the T-50 training aircraft of the same type.

KAI is also promoting the installation of the state-of-the-art Asa radar developed for the KF-21, a Korean supersonic fighter, on the FA-50 exported this time and strengthening air-to-air armament.

It is a paving stone to enhance the export competitiveness of the FA-50 by maximizing detection and anti-aircraft attack power.

KAI aims to export more than 1,000 FA-50 units.
