The Sweden Democrats are making progress in all municipalities in Sörmland and also in the region.
For the chairman of the municipal board, Anneli Bengtsson (S), the result did not come as a surprise.
- We knew that SD would grow, we already saw in 2018 that there was a huge vote split when it came to SD votes.
So I understood that there wouldn't be as much vote splitting in this election because it looks like that all over Sweden.
They have made a fantastic choice, she says.
Before the election, the Social Democrats, the Christian Democrats, the Center Party and the Green Party ruled the municipality.
What the board may look like in the future is currently unclear.
