A seven-year-old girl was injured in the face after being bitten by the family dog, a pit bull, while she was at home with her parents and grandmother, present at the time of the attack.
The episode happened last night in Monteroni, in the province of Lecce.
The little girl is not in danger of life and was rescued and taken to the emergency room of the “Vito Fazzi” hospital in Lecce.
She was admitted to the pediatric surgery ward, she suffered deep face wounds.
The medical staff in the emergency room alerted the police stationary officers and initiated the investigation.
It was not the first time: her child had already been bitten a few months ago by the same dog.
The first assault dates back to 30 May and, even in that case, the little girl needed hospitalization.
After the carabinieri reported it to Asl and Procura, the dog was seized and then entrusted to the owner: the new companion of the child's mother.
