The three parties have governed the municipality in the majority for the last two mandate periods and Jimmy Jansson (S), the chairman of the municipal board, is open to the possibility that they can continue the cooperation.

- It looks like we get approval as a majority.

We will meet each other on Monday and get a feel for each other and my preliminary assessment is that the people of Eskilstuna like what they have seen, says Jimmy Jansson (S) about the continued cooperation with the Moderates and the Center Party.

Together, the three parties gather well over half of the votes.

The moderates lost 1.6 percent in Eskilstuna and now get 17.2 percent of the vote.

They are open to continuing to govern with the Social Democrats and the Center Party.

- It has worked very well, says the Moderates' group leader Jari Puustinen.

At the same time, he says that they are not closing any doors against the Sweden Democrats at the moment.

The Sweden Democrats made a strong election in Eskilstuna and increased to 22.1 percent of the votes in the municipal election.

Group leader Kim Fredriksson is happy that the party is growing nationally and that it is progressing with 2.8 percent in the municipal election, at the same time it does not look like there will be any change of power.
