In the statement, Prince Harry further writes: “To celebrate the life of my grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, and as we mourn her passing, we are all reminded of the guiding compass she was to so many in her commitment to service and duty.

Grateful for all the memories
At the same time, the prince expresses his gratitude for the moments he himself shared with the queen: "While this final farewell is a great sadness, I am eternally grateful for all our meetings.
From my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my leader, to the first moment you met my beloved wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren,” he writes.
“I cherish these times I shared with you, and many other special moments in between.
You are already greatly missed, not only by us but by the whole world”.

Also paid tribute to his father
Prince Harry also paid tribute to his father in the statement: "Now we honor my father in his new role as King Charles III".
During the King's first speech on Friday last week, a day after the Queen's death, he also paid tribute to Harry and his wife Meghan.
"I also want to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives abroad," he said.
