A hard winter awaits Ukraine if it stops receiving electricity from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, said Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of the country.

“If, God forbid, the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant does not produce enough energy for our country, it will be extremely difficult for us in the winter,” Danilov said in an interview with the LB.ua portal.

Recall that Zaporozhye NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, which annually generates more than 40 billion kWh of energy.

This is almost 20% of the total electricity production in Ukraine and 50% of the generation at the country's nuclear power plants.

Block stop

On the night of September 11, the sixth power unit of the station - the last of those that continued to work - was stopped due to shelling from the forces of the Kyiv regime.

This was announced by the chairman of the movement "We are together with Russia", a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region Vladimir Rogov.

According to him, the shutdown of the reactor was controlled.

“It is now being transferred to a cold state, when it is possible to restart it.

For more than three days, the nuclear power plant operated at extremely low power - from 11 to 14%.

From 110 to 140 MW with a design capacity of 1 thousand MW.

This is very harmful, so such a decision was made (to stop the power unit. -

).

What will happen next - now experts are looking at how to save the nuclear power plant, ”Rogov explained on the air of the Solovyov LIVE TV channel.

According to him, the Ukrainian militants interrupted the power lines through which energy from the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant entered the system.

“The only line that remained on the territory controlled by official Kyiv has not received electricity for several days.

On purpose, so that damage was done to the nuclear power plant, so that the turbine failed, so that there were problems with the power unit and the reactor, ”he explained.

The other day, Rogov said that Ukraine had unilaterally stopped receiving energy coming from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

According to him, despite the fact that there are technical possibilities for its transmission, Kyiv refuses to receive electricity, creating problems for the operation of a nuclear facility.

According to the politician, in this way the Kyiv regime, at the direction of the United States, is trying to stop the operation of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, although this is extremely unprofitable for the Ukrainian economy.

After the shutdown of the last power unit, technological processes at ZNPP are supported by diesel generators.

international problem

The Zaporozhye NPP, located in the city of Energodar, has been under the control of Russian troops almost from the very beginning of the special operation.

Over the past few weeks, the ZNPP has been regularly shelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that in the first ten days of September alone, nuclear power plants and Energodar were fired on 26 times by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia has repeatedly drawn the attention of the world community to the fact that the actions of the forces of the Kyiv regime pose a threat of a man-made disaster.

This issue was again raised by President Vladimir Putin during a telephone conversation with French leader Emmanuel Macron on 11 September.

At the beginning of the month, a mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) arrived at the station, which included the head of the organization, Rafael Grossi.

Agency specialists talked to the station workers, residents of Energodar and recorded the damage caused to the station.

Subsequently, the IAEA published a report in which it recommended that the shelling of the station and the territory adjacent to it be stopped.

However, the agency's experts did not indicate the source of the shelling in the document.

Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya, commenting on the IAEA report, noted that this is regrettable, and stressed that in the current situation it is extremely important to call a spade a spade.

In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the transfer of the ZNPP under the control of Kyiv would mean dooming the world to a nuclear catastrophe.

According to the diplomat, the Russian side sees that the Kyiv regime is using the ZNPP as an element of nuclear blackmail and an object for creating nuclear threats.

“We perfectly understand how it was, and in other parts of the world, the West has perfectly worked out systems of staging, provocations, and committing crimes under a false flag,” the diplomat stressed.

On September 9, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi issued a separate statement calling the ongoing shelling of the station unacceptable and calling for an immediate end to it.

However, in his statement, Grossi also used general language and did not indicate the source of the shelling that endangered the ZNPP.

According to Vladimir Rogov, a representative of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, two IAEA specialists remain at the station as observers.

"It's absurd"

The cessation of energy supply to Ukraine from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant will really complicate the situation of the country this winter, however, the Ukrainian authorities have had problems in the field of energy and preparation for the heating season before, Vladimir Olenchenko, a senior researcher at the Center for European Studies at IMEMO RAS, said in an interview with RT.

“Danilov correctly states that the current situation will create difficulties for supplying the population of Ukraine with heat.

But there is also a certain expectation in the actions of the Ukrainian authorities to attribute their general incompetence to the situation around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Due to the actions of the current and previous authorities, carried out under the control of the EU, extremely inflated prices for electricity and utilities in Ukraine.

Now, citizens will be informed that this is all allegedly due to the fact that the ZNPP is not working, ”the analyst said.

In turn, political scientist Andrei Suzdaltsev, in a conversation with RT, indicated that the Kyiv regime, through its actions, wants to achieve the withdrawal of Russian forces from the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

“This is a game of the Ukrainian leadership, which they are playing with the aim of forcing Russia to leave the station and transfer it to the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Danilov, saying that it will be hard for Ukraine to survive the winter without electricity from ZNPP, is absolutely right, because 20% of the country's electricity is generated at this station.

But the paradox is that by its actions Kyiv is trying to stop the nuclear power plant.

This is absurd.

At the same time, it is clear that such statements are aimed primarily at the West, which, according to Kyiv, should force Russia to transfer control over the station to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ”the expert said.

The shelling of the station in this situation is an instrument of blackmail by the Kyiv regime, Suzdaltsev added.

“Ukrainian strikes are aimed at storage sites of radioactive materials, which can lead to local radiation contamination, which the Russian side will have to eliminate.

At the same time, Ukrainian propaganda claims that the shelling of the ZNPP is allegedly carried out by Russia.

And this absurdity is repeated by the entire West, although in fact everyone is well aware that the source of the shelling is Ukraine, ”the political scientist emphasized.

At the same time, the IAEA, which sent its mission to the station, cannot draw an unambiguous conclusion on the situation due to political pressure from Western countries, the source said.

“All the structures that work in the UN are under the strict control of the United States.

They simply will not be allowed to tell the truth, ”said the analyst.

And it is not possible to resolve this situation through diplomacy or through the IAEA, Suzdaltsev believes.

“The IAEA conducted an audit, and then they can’t help us with anything, although they perfectly understand who is doing what.

As long as the Armed Forces of Ukraine have the opportunity to fire at the station from the other side, this will continue.

This problem can be solved only by military means,” the expert concluded.
