On September 11, on the Tankman's Day, a monument to the T-34 tank was opened in Ivangorod.
According to Bulgakov, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu initiated the creation of the monument as a response to the dismantling of a similar monument in Estonia.
On August 16, work began in Estonia on the transfer of the T-34 memorial tank to the Estonian War Museum.
The head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry, Urmas Reinsalu, said that if any of the foreigners who are in Estonia, on the basis of the existing residence permit, oppose the dismantling of Soviet monuments, then they should take into account the possibility of canceling the residence permit.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called his statement a direct threat.
