The UAE continues its relief and humanitarian efforts in support of the floods and rains affected in Sudan

 The field teams of the Emirates Red Crescent distributed food baskets and shelter materials to Sudanese families affected by torrential rains and floods in the villages of "Jalala" of Kosti city in Al Jabaleen locality and "Dabakaria Al Bahr" of Al Salam locality in White Nile state, benefiting 3,500 people in the face of the difficult humanitarian conditions they live in .

The aid comes within the framework of the UAE’s ongoing relief and humanitarian efforts on the Sudanese scene, within the relief air bridge that it operated to help the brothers who were affected by the rains and torrential rains that hit a number of states and villages and left great losses in lives and property.

In detail, the Emirates Red Crescent teams distributed aid to the residents of Galala village, located in a border area between the White Nile and South Sudan, more than 400 kilometers from the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, after they were stranded as a result of the humanitarian catastrophe they were exposed to.

The Emirati food aid was transported on board small boats, which is the only way to reach the residents of this stricken village, which was engulfed by torrential rains and floods.

The residents of Galala village expressed their thanks to the UAE for its fraternal and humanitarian stance towards the Sudanese people, extending a helping hand and helping them, and bearing the trouble and hardship of reaching the affected people in their positions and supporting them in order to overcome the effects of the humanitarian crisis they are going through.

Mahdi Ali Muhammad said: Floods swept us, destroying everything, homes and agricultural crops and cutting off roads until we became completely isolated and people suffer from mosquitoes and diseases. We thank the Emirates Red Crescent for our relief after it brought us good at the right time.

On her part, Fatima Muhammad Ahmed said: The flood came and with it the destruction. Even agriculture was not spared from the damage of the torrent that surprised us and made us live without shelter. All the houses were demolished.. We thank the UAE for standing with us in order to alleviate our suffering.

Meanwhile, Issa Muhammad Al-Hajj said: Floods and rain affected our lives after they destroyed everything.. homes and agricultural lands and led to the spread of mosquitoes. Our situation is difficult.. We thank the Emirates Red Crescent, who extended a helping hand to us.
