The armed forces of Ukraine retreated after unsuccessful attacks in the Nikolaev-Kryvyi Rih direction, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said during a briefing on September 9.

“In just a day, in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction, the enemy lost three tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles and seven other armored vehicles, two pickup trucks with heavy machine guns and more than 270 military personnel,” Konashenkov said.

At the same time, over 50 nationalists, as well as 16 units of special military equipment and vehicles, were destroyed by high-precision strikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces on the control posts of the nationalist formation "Kraken" and the 93rd mechanized brigade.

As a result of strikes with ground-based precision weapons on the points of temporary deployment of Ukrainian units of the 127th Territorial Defense Brigade and the 14th Mechanized Brigade in the Kharkov region, the nationalists lost more than 50 militants, over 120 were injured.

Attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Zaporozhye NPP

Ukrainian troops continue provocative actions, creating the threat of a man-made disaster at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the Ministry of Defense stressed.

Six shellings are reported in the Energodar region.

In total, 27 shells were fired, which managed to hit power lines, leaving the city without electricity.

The ministry said that Russian artillery fire suppressed enemy firepower, and regular personnel continued to monitor the technical condition of the nuclear power plant.

Ukrainian landing

The Armed Forces of Ukraine again tried to transfer troops across the Dnieper in the direction of the city of Kamenka-Dneprovskaya, but the attack was repelled, said Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to probe for a weak point in the defense.

“They are looking for a place where they can gain a foothold on the banks of the Dnieper and create a springboard for the offensive,” Rogov wrote in his Telegram channel.

Rogov recalled that on September 1 and 3, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had already made attempts to land in the direction of Energodar, Dneprorudny and Vasilyevka.

According to the head of the Energodar administration Alexander Volga, the Ukrainian landing attempted to break through at about 01:00 Moscow time.

Before that, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an artillery strike on the Luch substation, which provides the city with electricity.

Currently, Energodar is de-energized, Interfax reports.

Disruption of the Ukrainian offensive near Kharkov

The Russian military managed to thwart the enemy’s offensive near Kharkov, First Deputy Minister of Information of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov said on his Telegram channel.

“On September 7, our reconnaissance discovered an accumulation of enemy forces and means in the Serebryanka area, which is near Seversk.

According to estimates, the enemy pulled up to 2.5 thousand manpower, as well as military equipment (tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled guns) ... on the night of September 7-8, our artillery and aviation inflicted a fire defeat on it.

Now they will never move anywhere,” he pointed out.

Bezsonov suggested that on the morning of September 8, the militants were supposed to attack from the south towards Kupyansk.

He stressed that radio intercepts indicate a large number of foreign mercenaries in the group.

Modification of Russian technology

The Russian Defense Ministry is conducting a diverse modernization of three generations of infantry fighting vehicles in the army at once, Major General Alexander Shestakov, head of the Main Armored Directorate (GABTU) of the Russian Defense Ministry, told the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper on September 9.

Additional protection kits for infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers have been sent to the NMD zone, he said.

“Additional protection kits for the BMP-3, BMP-2, BTR-82A, BTR-80 have been created and the supply of these kits to the troops, primarily to the areas of the special military operation,” says Shestakov.
