In recent years, Nantong Mobile has opened nearly 120 5G network base stations in coastal and mid-offshore waters, adding new momentum to the creation of a "smart ocean".

Recently, a new batch of 5G base stations in the "Guoxin Rudong H2 Wind Farm" in the Yangkou Port area of Rudong County were completed and opened, achieving continuous coverage of 5G signals within a range of about 100 kilometers outside the Nantong coastline.

According to reports, after testing, the current average download rate of a single station reaches 300 megabits per second, and the upload rate is about 200 megabits per second, which can provide stable and efficient communication guarantees and services for offshore operations, fishery safety production, and life rescue.

In recent years, industries such as offshore aquaculture and tidal flat tourism in Rudong County have developed rapidly, and the 4G network in the offshore operation area has gradually been unable to meet the needs of higher speed and larger bandwidth.

In July 2019, the first 5G base station in the Yellow Sea area was opened on Sunshine Island. Within three years, 15 offshore 5G base stations have been opened in the Rudong area.

Nantong Mobile set up a party member commando team, and cooperated with relevant enterprises to start the construction of 5G network in Nantong sea area, and continuously weaved the 5G network at sea. At present, nearly 120 5G network base stations have been opened in coastal and offshore waters.
