It was less than a week ago that a man, outside Cristina Fernández de Kirchner's residence in central Buenos Aires, pointed a gun at the vice president - and fired.

The shot was never fired and the suspect was arrested at the scene.

It is about a 35-year-old man with Brazilian citizenship who, according to several media outlets, wears a Nazi symbol on his arm.

The man's 23-year-old girlfriend was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of being involved in planning the murder of Fernández de Kirchner.

In pictures, you can see how they both pose with the suspected assassination attempt weapon and they are also said to have been seen together near the site shortly before the time of the incident, reports the BBC, which refers to Argentine authorities.

The President: "We've had enough of the violence"

In a speech on Thursday, President Alberto Fernández addressed Argentina's youth and asked for a country where dissent is not an object of hatred.

- We have had enough of the violence.

Help me build that country, he said.
