According to the newspaper, which refers to several sources, some of the documents that were in the former president's residence Mar-a-Lago in Florida should have had such a high security classification that only the president and his absolute closest associates had access to them.

As for the document with the information about foreign power's nuclear weapons, it is not clear which country it concerned.

The Washington Post writes that documents of this stature are only released to government employees who have a specific need to access the information.

It is not clear where in Trump's home, which also doubles as a members' club, the sensitive material was found or if any security measures were taken to protect it.

Trump: Politically motivated

During the raid on the home, the FBI took 33 boxes of material with them.

They contained more than 100 classified documents.

Among other things, there were such in Trump's office.

The published search warrant shows that the FBI is investigating possible violations of three federal laws, the most serious of which falls under the Espionage Act.

The suspicions do not concern direct espionage, but the collection, dissemination or loss of classified material.

Trump has previously claimed that the crackdown was politically motivated.

On Monday, a federal court granted his request that a special independent investigator be appointed to review the circumstances surrounding the raid.
