He noted that this was preceded by several stages, the first of which was the preparation of a report on military losses, which took about five years.

According to the politician, the document is a strong tool for the formal submission of a note demanding reparations.

“At the moment we are preparing this note, and we, of course, will not have to wait long for this step ... The note should be expected before the end of this year,” RIA Novosti quotes the deputy minister.

Earlier, the leader of Poland's ruling Law and Justice party, Jarosław Kaczynski, said Poland would demand 6.2 trillion złoty (about $1.3 trillion) from Germany in reparations for damages resulting from World War II.

The German Foreign Ministry then replied that the issue of paying reparations to Poland for World War II was closed for Germany.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz noted that the issue of reparations to Poland is regulated by international law.
