According to Sveriges Radio's sources, several electricity companies are currently investigating whether it is legally possible to tear up the contracts with reference to the "force majeure" clause, that is, an unforeseen event.

According to the power companies, the war in Ukraine and the subsequent gas conflict, which is pushing up prices, could fall under the clause.

Several of the large electricity companies say, however, that they have no plans to tear up fixed contracts, including the Linköping-based electricity company Bixia.

- We have no such plans.

But we are in an exceptional state today where Russia is waging an energy war against Europe.

That makes it difficult to say anything about the future, but as it looks now, we expect to be able to keep our fixed price agreements, says Pär Kaller.

In the clip, the company's CEO Pär Kaller talks about how Bixia views the electricity situation and the new information about the electricity companies' plans to tear up written agreements.
