The International Atomic Energy Agency pointed out in a report that many facilities at the nuclear power plant are currently damaged.

While the continued shelling has not yet triggered a nuclear emergency, it continues to pose a threat to nuclear security with potentially serious consequences.

The agency called for the establishment of a nuclear safety zone around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and the cessation of all military activities that could affect the power supply system of the nuclear power plant.

In addition, the International Atomic Energy Agency also proposed to immediately stop shelling around the nuclear power plant, improve the working environment of staff, and ensure communication channels.

The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine, was controlled by the Russian military in March 2022.

Recently, Russia and Ukraine accused each other of launching an attack on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant area, and its nuclear safety risk has caused concern in the international community.

According to previous reports, a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency arrived at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant for inspection on September 1.

After the inspection, 2 experts were left to stay in the facility for a long time.
