China News Service, September 7. According to the WeChat public account of "State-owned Xiaoxin", at 12:52 on September 5, an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan, causing heavy casualties and property losses.
The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Party Committee immediately mobilized and organized central enterprises to respond urgently and act quickly, and went all out to devote themselves to the earthquake relief work.
Central SOEs resolutely implemented the decision-making and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on earthquake relief and disaster relief. In accordance with the requirements of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and the arrangements of Sichuan Province, they quickly mobilized their forces in the fields of electric power, communications, oil and gas, and construction, and devoted themselves to emergency rescue.
Enterprises in communications, electricity, etc. made every effort to repair damaged facilities and restore communications and power supply as soon as possible; oil, grain and oil enterprises actively provided oil, food and other relief materials, and strived to provide logistical support for the disaster area; other relevant central enterprises immediately deployed emergency teams, machinery and equipment rushed to the disaster area, repaired roads and bridges, searched and rescued trapped people.
As of 8:00 on September 7, the relevant central enterprises have invested more than 3,000 rescue personnel and more than 1,400 sets (vehicles) of various types of rescue equipment and vehicles.
Central SOEs care about the people in the disaster area and actively fulfill their social responsibilities. 65 enterprises have donated 1.168 billion yuan to fully support the earthquake relief and restore the order of production and life in the disaster area as soon as possible.
