Two days before the launch of the National Council for Refoundation (CNR), and failing to be able to count on the presence of the opposition, Emmanuel Macron succeeded in convincing the associations of elected officials to participate in it even if they do not believe for the whole in this format, which they compare to a "great display mass".

Who will participate in the National Refoundation Council (CNR)?

This body wanted by Emmanuel Macron, is supposed to bring together several public actors to reflect on the major issues of the moment.

This CNR is to be launched on Thursday but the opposition parties have already refused to go there, as has the President of the Senate, Gérard Larcher.

What weaken the project.

The president wants to convince the associations of elected officials

To mitigate the affront, the president did everything to convince the associations of elected officials to participate.

The Head of State received on Sunday evening the presidents of the three main associations of elected officials: regions, departments and municipalities.

A seduction operation which seems to have convinced them to participate in two days in the National Council of Refoundation, in Marcoussis.

"We said that we do not believe in the format of the National Council for Refoundation because we believe that it is a great mass of display", explained David Lisnard, the president of the Association of mayors of France, guest of Sonia Mabrouk Tuesday morning.

Decentralization: before the CNR, David Lisnard underlines "major progress with Macron"

"For the first time, there is a radical change"

"He gave us an appointment very quickly. And for the first time, there is a radical change. He notably agreed with us on the observation of the civic crisis that our system is going through. We had a frank discussion and direct. And he noted that finally a great law of decentralization was needed, that financial stability was needed, that we could no longer continue to loot the municipalities, the local authorities, "he continued.

"We will seize this opportunity to assert our positions," says David Lisnard.

Emmanuel Macron will therefore be able to at least count on the associations of elected officials to launch his five-year term, failing to be able to count on the presence of the opposition.
