It all started with the police receiving information about an IP address in Sweden from American authorities.

It was then managed to be traced to a place in northwestern Scania.

The judgment states, among other things, that the man must

"...possess 9,634 images and 1,195 films of child pornographic material."

It is also, taken individually, clear that 3,004 of the images and 851 of the videos respectively constitute particularly wanton abuse material...”

But there was much larger material.

- The material never ran out, so a limitation had to be made.

We ended up with the penalty value for the material being a serious crime and thus the material was limited, says chamber prosecutor Cecilia Andersson.

But wouldn't the man get a longer prison sentence if he was convicted of all the material?

- The staff value could have been longer but was not significantly affected by this limitation.

Very young children

In several cases, it involved very young children who had been subjected to sexual abuse, which was also a contributing factor to the man being convicted of serious child pornography offences.

How does it feel to be forced to go through material like this?

- It's terrible material, terrible to look at.

When you have a serious crime, you have to go through it in court so that the district court can make its own assessment, but that discomfort cannot be compared to the children's suffering.

How important are international collaborations?

- Cross-border cooperation is extremely important because it is a crime that takes place internationally.

The man admitted possession of child pornography offenses of the normal degree, while he contested the charge of aggravated child pornography offences.
