Following her victory on Monday, new British Prime Minister Liz Truss will officially take office this afternoon.

A priority for the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, to fight against the explosion in the cost of living even though the country has crossed the 10% inflation mark and the price of energy will increase by 80% in October.

And three!

In the UK, Liz Truss has become the third woman to take the post of Prime Minister.

After her round trip to Balmoral in Scotland to be dubbed by the Queen, the former Foreign Minister will take office this afternoon and will face colossal challenges.

Explosion of 80% in energy prices from October, inflation of more than 10%... the absolute priority of the new head of government will be to manage the cost of living crisis.

Because the experts are not very optimistic for the future and foresee inflation which could peak at 22% by this winter.

Social growl

The energy crisis is also on everyone's mind, as several thousand Britons threaten to stop paying their electricity bills next month.

Liz Truss promises a bold plan, without giving more details for the moment.

Because after a summer of discontent, social discontent is growing in the United Kingdom and the main public sector unions are threatening new strikes.

On the international side, Liz Truss has already announced that the British will continue to support Ukraine at all costs.

But the energy crisis could disrupt aid.

Finally, the new Prime Minister will take over the Irish border file.

Pro-Brexit, she will have to manage the tensions between Ireland and Northern Ireland and the disputes with the European Union on the Northern Irish protocol.
