The signing of the declaration was attended by the Secretary-General of the Executive Council, President of the Dubai Government Excellence Program, Abdullah Mohammed Al-Basti, and the founding members of the Global Council for Excellence: representatives of the European Foundation for Quality Management, the Australian Council for Quality, the Japan Quality Award, the Quality Foundation in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, and the Quality Improvement Institute in Mexico. The Malaysian Productivity Institution, the Bolridge Program for Excellence in Performance in the United States of America, the Confederation of Indian Industries, the China Society for Quality, the African Quality Forum, the National Quality Foundation in Brazil, in addition to the Dubai Government Excellence Program.

The first of its kind global council aims to develop joint events and activities in the field of quality and performance excellence among international partners, in addition to highlighting the best international practices in the management of quality and excellence awards, evaluating the most effective management practices, consolidating the foundations and principles of excellence, and stimulating the adoption of excellence models. Promote it, introduce it, develop it, train on it, evaluate and give appreciation based on it.

A series of "Government Best Practices Meetings" was launched yesterday in Dubai, organized by the Dubai Government Excellence Program of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, with the participation of heads and representatives of government agencies in Dubai and members of the Global Council for Excellence.

The Secretary-General of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Dubai Government Excellence Program, Abdullah Muhammad Al Basti, gave the keynote speech, during which he emphasized Dubai’s success in establishing its position as a global capital of government excellence and innovation, and the pioneering contributions of the Dubai Government Excellence Program to achieving this status through its programs, initiatives and specialized events. , especially knowledge transfer and exchange activities, in embodiment of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, aimed at setting standards Excellence and creativity in government work, and motivating government agencies in the emirate to advance work towards pioneering horizons.

The activities of the first day included discussion and dialogue sessions, which shed light on global experiences in building excellence and achieving leadership.

In a session titled “The Role of Excellence in Achieving Leadership”, the Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Lieutenant-General Mohammed Ahmed Al-Marri, stressed that the UAE, since its establishment, has been a country of distinction, and the achievements made by Dubai during the previous years directly contributed to the consolidation of the approach of excellence.
