A woman spent more than eight hours in the sea after being swept away by currents.

She had gone swimming this Sunday, on the beach of Sant Miquel, in Barcelona (Spain), around 8 p.m.

Witnesses alerted the emergency services around 10 p.m., while his personal belongings were still on the beach, reports the news site 3/24.

Searches were quickly launched with Salvament Marítim teams, despite the night.

In addition, the Civil Guard, the Mossos d'Esquadra and the fire brigade of Barcelona were mobilized.
