A 61-year-old man died during the ninth edition of the Sorézienne, Sunday, in the Tarn.

The cyclist was taking part in this mountain biking and hiking tour when he fell.

, the sexagenarian lost the front wheel of his bike in a descent, near Durfort.

He dived head first and had his neck broken, says France Bleu Occitanie.

Died instantly

Witnesses to the accident tried to help the cyclist, as did the emergency services present on site for the race.

In vain, the man died instantly.

, the mountain biker was from Palleville.

He took part in the Sorézienne on one of the two routes of the hike, 25 km long.

The race continued normally despite this tragedy.
