Thunderstorms will still be frequent on Tuesday, Météo-France announces in its forecasts.

They will sometimes be strong in the east of the country, especially near the Mediterranean.

From Languedoc-Roussillon and the west of PACA to the south-east of the Massif Central, the weather will be very threatening.

From the beginning of the day the sky will be cloudy and thunderstorms will break out.

The rains which will increase could give significant accumulations in a short time, between 50 and 80 mm of water, and will sometimes be long-lasting, in particular on the plains of Languedoc, where these disturbed conditions will persist until the end of the day, even the following night.

A southwesterly wind in the north

From the east of Midi-Pyrénées and Limousin to Lorraine and the eastern borders, after sometimes beautiful morning spells alternating with a few locally stormy showers, the atmosphere will become heavy and quickly in the afternoon the clouds will develop.

Thunderstorms will become frequent and at times strong, with intense rain, a risk of hail and strong wind gusts possible.

Corsica and Provence will remain on the sidelines with a cloudy sky, a small risk of showers on the Corsican mountains.

On the other hand, from Brittany and the Pays de la Loire to Normandy in the morning, then to the west of Hauts de France in the afternoon, the clouds will be numerous and will be accompanied by frequent rainy periods, sometimes thunderstorms.

A south-westerly wind at 60 km/h will continue over these north-west regions.

Up to 33 degrees in the South

In the South-West the day will be calmer, sunny spells will largely dominate.

Elsewhere, clearings and clouds will alternate, a few isolated but locally stormy showers will be possible.

Minimum temperatures will range from 14 to 18 degrees in general from north to south, 18 to 23 degrees in Occitania, on the Mediterranean coast and in Corsica.

The maximums will vary between 20 and 25 degrees over the North-West, between 26 and 31 degrees over the rest of the northern 2 thirds, between 28 and 33 degrees over a southern third.
