According to the press release of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will hold the Renyin Year Mid-Autumn Lantern Display from September 7 to 12 to add a festive atmosphere to the public. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Multiple sets of Mid-Autumn lanterns will be displayed at 3 venues (Victoria Park, Tung Chung Man Tung Road Park and Tai Po Waterfront Park), and the light and shadow art installation "Uninterrupted Embrace", which is currently installed in the open square of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, will be on display until 9 25th of May.

  The lighting time of the above venues is from 6:30 pm to 11:00 pm every day, and the lighting time on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival (September 10) will be extended to 12:00 am.

However, due to the new crown pneumonia epidemic, there will be no performances and cultural activities.

  The highlight of the lantern show is the "Story of the Full Moon" in Victoria Park (Victoria Park), which combines the traditional craftsmanship and modern art of Sichuan Zigong lanterns to tell the ancient story of the Mid-Autumn Festival and promote Hong Kong and Sichuan cultural exchange.

  "Full Moon Story" consists of 3 moon spheres, with heights ranging from 3 meters to 4.5 meters, showing the full moon, mountains and rabbits. With the change of light color and brightness, it shows a warm scene where the moon and rabbits blend together.

The "Full Moon Story" Lighting Film Festival will be on display until September 25.

  There are also a number of sets of dazzling lanterns with different themes on display at Victoria Park, including a 7-meter-tall creation by local artist Hui Ka-hung with the theme of a Chinese-style sailboat carrying the LCSD mascots "Living Boy" and "Siwen Meow". The large-scale lantern "Double Stars Accompany the Moon Celebrating Reunion"; there are also lanterns made by primary and secondary school students, large-scale revolving lanterns with horses and bright moon as the theme, lanterns of twelve constellations and nostalgic lanterns that bring back the fun of children. Create an atmosphere of joy and celebration.

  The lighting decoration of Tung Chung Man Tung Road Park is themed "Flower Wish · Paradise", with a garden full of flowers and five lantern groups including forest birds, flowers and red pandas, bringing a colorful paradise to the public.

  Tai Po Waterfront Park is based on the theme of "Reunion Moon, Full Moon Wish". Large-scale revolving lanterns, paper cranes, paper boats, Kongming lanterns and other colorful lanterns are set up in the park's characteristic attractions such as pools, grasslands, and the Hong Kong Handover Memorial Tower. It means the reunion of people and the moon.

  In addition, the light and shadow art installation "Uninterrupted Embrace" currently on display at the Piazza of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre is based on the concept of "hug". The work features two rabbits standing face to face on a pool surrounded by heart-shaped light boxes. Light and shadow effects bring out "zero distance hugs".

  The LCSD reminds that in order to protect public health, members of the public must take epidemic prevention measures when going to appreciate the Mid-Autumn Festival lights, wear their own masks (including during the photo-taking period), take body temperature before entering the venue, and maintain appropriate social distance.
