You must have once watched a cinematic video filmed in the sky in a smooth way that made you wonder how it was filmed with such quality and closeness?

What is the camera used and how do you chase the target so quickly?

She is the director of the FPV.

The Chinese company, DJI, recently introduced a special FPV model, which means First Person View, so what is this model and what are its components and differences from the regular types?

What is the FBV process?

"FPV" is a remote-controlled pilot, which gives a live broadcast from the perspective of the first person who controls it, through a special camera installed on it.

This drone sends a live broadcast from the camera to special glasses placed by the pilot who controls the drone, and it can be used for important and useful purposes, or just to enjoy his unique experience.

The FPV provides an unparalleled experience in terms of live imaging that is transmitted directly to the pilot, because the cinematic viewing angle provides great scenes, and the flight safety factors found in the normal flight are not here, and therefore you can experience flying in the way and the way you imagine Without any kind of limitation, here too lies its difficulty.

This manually manufactured router - which does not have advanced special protections - is designed to work quickly and to reach certain places, which makes it difficult to control, and requires experience and planning.

Perhaps to get the point across, watch the following video on how the crew and pilot planned to shoot one of the toughest mountain bike races, but in the alleys of the city.

FPV Router Parts

The FPV tracker parts are divided into two parts, the first is flight equipment, and the second is ground equipment.

What distinguishes "FPV" is that it can be assembled from scratch, meaning that all parts are interchangeable according to the user's preference and need.

Flyable parts:

1- Frame:

The frame is the basis of the track, as it is the structure that will contain all the other parts, and it is usually made of carbon fiber with metal or plastic parts.

The frame of this track must be solid and able to withstand shocks resulting from accidents, and the most important characteristic is that it is easy to disassemble and install, and allows access to all parts inside it easily for repair or replacement.

2- Flight system

The flight system includes all the components that give the pilot the ability to fly, and these components are:

  • the battery

It is an essential part of achieving flightability, providing the entire flight system with the power it needs to operate.

Since weight is an important factor in the driver, the battery must be lightweight, but without risking in terms of the amount of energy it needs, so rechargeable lithium-polymer batteries are used and are very suitable in this case.

  • fans

Just like in a helicopter, the propellers push the air downward, which gives the propeller the force it needs to rise and move.

Fans come in different sizes and shapes, and their selection depends on the user's preference.

Care must be taken when dealing with the propellers while he is working, as they can be harmful when in contact with them as they cause injuries.

  • Motors

The power source that makes the fans rotate, and they are used in the FPV path. The motors are of high performance, and we usually need 4 motors of the same type and capacity.

These motors rotate at speeds of up to tens of thousands of revolutions per minute, and they also require very precise control to function properly, which is why the electronic speed controller is present.

  • electronic speed controller

It is the part responsible for the synchronous and correct operation of the motors over a wide range of speeds.

Each motor needs its own speed controller, and since it is common to use 4 motors, we need 4 speed controllers which come in one package in the form of a device called a "4 in 1" speed controller.

By integrating the work of the four controllers, we get the perfect synchronization of the speed of each of the motors.

  • the future

It is the simplest part, and it is an antenna installed on the propulsion, and its task is to receive the signals from the pilot's controller and send them to the flight controller system, and both the receiver and the controller must be of the same type in order to work in harmony and correctly.

  • flight control system

This system is the central piece that connects all parts of the FPV path, and it is similar to the central processing unit, where the flight system can communicate with the pilot and process the commands of the pilot's control device, and transmit those commands to the engines separately to obtain the required movements.

This system is equipped with a directional sensor (gyroscope) to maintain orientation and correct unwanted movements caused by wind or yaw.

Also, some of the more complex flight systems are able to process video signals, so they can display additional information during the broadcast directly to the pilot, such as the percentage of remaining battery, control signal strength, and others.

3- FPV system:

The parts we reviewed earlier will help with a stable flying experience, but the fun in that experience is the FPV system.

We have two types of this system, one is digital and the other is analog, and although there are certain differences between them, but the same parts are found in both, and they are as follows:

  • FPV camera:

The FPV path camera is a small camera installed on the front of the path, which captures the video directly in real time and sends it to the video transmitter.

The video recorded by the FPV camera is high-resolution, and the popular cameras are lightweight and have high capture quality, such as the well-known GoPro cameras.

  • Video Vector

This transmitter converts the video captured by the camera into a wireless signal, and a transmitter attached to the transmitter sends the wireless signal to the pilot's FPV glasses.

It's worth noting the importance of carrier quality in getting an experience that is free from interference or streaming errors.

ground equipment

1- Control device:

The control device allows the pilot to send movement commands to the pilot, and here we notice that there are two joysticks on the device that give accurate flight control, and there are a few buttons to set certain functions of the pilot.

A controller must be obtained with an appropriate range according to the use case of the router, and it must be sized to fit in the palms of the hands.

2- FPV glasses

These glasses are the most important part of the FPV experience, and the glasses provide a receiver that receives the wireless video signal from the video transmitter, and it also contains a screen inside to display the received video from the pathfinder's camera.

There are several other devices for receiving video from the router, most notably the separate screen, but for the unparalleled FPV experience, therefore, you must use custom glasses.

3- Equipment and tools

The equipment attached to the FPV proximity includes the drive bag, the attached charger of the appropriate capacity to charge lithium “polymer” batteries, and there are maintenance kits and spare parts in the event of an accident.

Differences in FPV path types

  • The types of FPV paths differ from the regular ones in several points, most notably:

  • Freedom of movement: where there is no GPS signal to prevent the drone from flying in the no-fly zones.

  • The FPV's drone has no motion sensors to stop it from colliding with anything in its path.

  • Proficiency in flying the FPV drone requires training before using it, as flying with it is manual without any aids, and in order to ensure the safety of the pilot and the pilot, they must be trained well before using it.

  • The speed of the FPV path is up to 200 kilometers per hour for some types. In addition, it is not equipped with a stop feature for the maximum range of control or an automatic return feature. When it goes out of range, it will fall and must be searched and retrieved manually.

  • Since the FPV path is fast moving and not restricted by any sensors, the resulting video may contain some kind of image noise or low resolution, and if there is a need to extract this video and use it, it must be processed by some software first.
