During the weekend, according to SVT's meteorologists, there was a lot of activity on the sun, and this is usually a good sign for the northern lights in southern Sweden as well.
In Västervik, everything was right on Sunday evening.
Clear skies, and at the time of sunset there was a clear view to the north and northeast.

Even in the coming days, the weather is favorable for the northern lights, but on the other hand, the sun is not really in the notes.
- The solar activity is not as high as this weekend, says SVT's meteorologist Deana Bajic.
