The Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi identified the three most prominent challenges facing teachers in private schools in Abu Dhabi, which included the delay in resignation procedures, the delay in issuing experience certificates, in addition to the delay in the payment of monthly salaries, noting that some schools delay the procedures for the resignation of teachers, and prevent them from applying to work in Other schools, and some schools refrain from issuing experience certificates, in addition to that some schools do not pay teachers' salaries on time.

In detail, the Department of Education and Knowledge announced that it had received 1,748 calls from teachers (representing 9% of all teachers), through the hotline over a period of five months, noting that it had launched the hotline dedicated to teachers, which provides a direct communication channel for teachers of private schools and schools of educational partnerships in The emirate, to present their innovative proposals and ideas, obtain reliable answers to their various questions related to the educational sector, and solve their problems.

The department stressed that schools must ensure that the basic rights of all members of the school community are protected at all times, and that all members of the school community understand the responsibilities that are associated with their respective job, as the school principal is obligated to guarantee the legal rights of employees, that employees abide by their responsibilities, and exercise leadership in a manner that reflects Legal and ethical responsibilities that govern the work of the school community.

The department pointed out in the "Private Schools Policies Guide" that all private schools must prepare, publish and review the employment guide periodically. Including detailing the school's policies in matters of recruitment, the school's organizational structure, including positions and job descriptions, recruitment procedures, and other procedures necessary for the appointment of candidates.

The department obligated schools to include in the employment manual procedures for checking criminal status, letters of recommendation for nominated employees, a trial period of no less than three months, or as specified by the work contract, induction and training programs for new employees, performance management procedures for all employees, in addition to the job terms and contract terms. And the salaries, bonuses, allowances, violations, the disciplinary measures resulting therefrom, and the ethical and professional charter.

Ethical and Professional Code

The Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi has developed an ethical and professional charter, which includes a set of standards that teachers in private schools must adhere to.

It consists of 12 ethical and professional standards that must be met by the employees covered by this charter, and it forms the basis for determining best practices in ethical and professional behavior, and any disciplinary measures that the school may need to take against an employee in the event of non-compliance with the standards of the charter.

The standards emphasized that educators should respect the Islamic religion, appreciate the Arab culture, the values, morals, customs and traditions of Emirati society, appreciate and tolerate other cultures, and maintain a good professional relationship with all students.
