• Caught Begoña Villacís, in love again

"All my summers have been that you die."

The summer story of her Begoña Villacís (Madrid, 1977), deputy mayor of Madrid, lawyer and councilor since 2015 of the City Council, in whose plenary session she acts as a spokesperson for Citizens, begins with her underwear removed.

One of the last links of the orange party.

How could it be otherwise, politics, always close and friendly, prefers to tell us about one of her summers locked up in Madrid.

"Summer makes me happy,

I spend the whole year waiting for

it," says this woman who, let's not kid ourselves, likes the sun, and a lot, at all times of the year.

Just look at her eternal tan.

"My worst summer was 25 years ago,

when I started working at Zara for three months, I was about 20, I was relatively young, not even a girl, I was already studying law. That summer I realized that I had grown older, especially when I asked at work how many days off I was entitled to and they told me 10. Those long summers of two and a half months when I was growing up were over," he recalls nostalgically.

"

Then I became aware of my reality,

I had already become an 'older' person and I assumed that from then on my summers were going to be much shorter. I have always had a lot of work... Even before dedicating myself to politics" .

Before being one of the leaders of Ciudadanos, Villacís had been responsible for the Tax, Labor and Commercial Law Areas at Legálitas.

She also lived for a long time in Virginia (USA).

In addition, she worked as an analyst on law issues on television programs, in fact she met Albert Rivera in a gathering on a set, so she signed her.

But that summer of which he speaks to us, long before he was a public person, he enjoyed his anonymity.

The typical of a normal young woman of her age willing to have a great time.

"Those ten days of permission I stuck in Madrid with my friends. It was phenomenal, the coolest thing was that I discovered the capital in July and August, I always went away when I had vacations and did not know the city in those months. It was a summer very funny.

We were all day in the pools of Vallehermoso, bathing and sunbathing (...)".

Begoña happily recalls those carefree years.

Without such a high position or daughters, because let's remember that the politician married later and had three girls (the last three years ago).

"We went out almost every night, we went to the terrace of the bar

El Viajero,

in La Latina.

It is one of my favorite places in Madrid.

We did not leave there. That summer I was able to recognize the city. I had no children or anything, nor great responsibilities Everything was easier, I was a freer person."

Currently, Begoña Villacís is separated from her husband and has rebuilt her life.

"I was very excited to go out and explore Madrid. I had time to do it. I used to live in the Chamberí neighborhood and I used to walk to El Retiro park.

I remember that I used to read quietly on the steps of the Retiro lake".

Apart from La Latina, the

citizen

and her friends also explored other areas of the city.

"We used to go out a lot to have fun also in Chueca".

Indeed, that summer that he had to stay in Madrid, that summer that he initially saw as the worst of his life, ended up being the best.

"Look, I was born in Madrid, but like so many people from Madrid, I go outside in the summer as much as I can, especially because of the heat... I thought about the dog days and I was horrified at not being able to go out that year terrified, as we all do every year looking for the sea... As is popularly said,

it is true that Madrid is nine months of hell and three of hell.

Also, I remember that that summer was especially hot. A horror, that's why we spent the whole day taking refuge in the pools of Vallehermoso ".

They went there in the morning and then they had an aperitif in the center.

At sunset, they went to a joint in Chueca called

Liquid

and ended the night at El Viajero, where they went even on Sunday.

"We walked around the city a lot.

We had vermouth in the Plaza de Santa Ana."

They did not have a Madrid plan left to do.

I had an afternoon shift at

Zara

.

"Since I was one of the few girls in the store who spoke languages, specifically English, and Zara was expanding around the world at the time, they asked me to train the managers in Tokyo, Canada and Los Angeles."

Without a doubt,

it was a very interesting experience for her.

She still had years of college left, but since it was summer she didn't have to go to class and that's why she was able to work and save.

And worse summer, nothing.

"This summer I was very happy with my lifelong friends: Natu, Sonia, Susana and Jorge, who wasn't my

boyfriend

, right?

This summer I was alone, without a boyfriend.

I've had many boyfriends but just this summer

I was single."

Perhaps that is why Begoña Villacís had such a good time.

The member of

Ciudadanos

is one of the most valued members of her party among the Spanish population.

She remains in her position, although it is presumable that in the next elections,

if she continues the debacle at the polls of the orange formation,

she will not repeat.

In any case, the entire legislature has perceived a cordial relationship both with the mayor Martínez Almeida and with the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Ayuso,
