Mayor Kuniyoshi Takahashi explained the damage situation and requested support, and Prime Minister Kishida replied, "I would like to fully support the rebuilding of lives and livelihoods."



Next, Prime Minister Kishida, who visited the site of the debris flow, confirmed the state of the damage, including the destruction of houses by a large amount of sediment and driftwood.



Prime Minister Kishida told reporters, "I witnessed the scars of tremendous damage. We will cooperate with the affected local governments and work together with the government to achieve rapid reconstruction and restoration. In addition, in order to protect the property and lives of the people, we will strengthen the national land. I would like to firmly proceed with measures such as dusting."



On the other hand, Prime Minister Kishida heard opinions from farmers and retailers in Niigata City about the impact of soaring food and energy prices and the necessary support.



Based on the opinion issued on the 4th, the government plans to open the "Prices, Wages and Livelihood Comprehensive Countermeasures Headquarters" on the 9th of this week to compile additional countermeasures against soaring prices.
