A survey revealed that Germany does not expect its citizens to receive modified Corona vaccines against Omicron, at a time when Berlin announced the cancellation of the warning of Corona injuries on the rapid warning service, stressing that the pandemic continues.

As for Europe, it warns of new mutations.

Starting with Germany, where health officials do not expect a "rush from citizens to obtain vaccines modified to combat the Omicron mutant" at a time when the country prepares for a high number of infections during the cold months of the year.

The country's states intend to distribute vaccines mainly to public clinics and vaccination centers, but they do not expect an increase in demand, according to a survey conducted by the German news agency.

OMICRON Vaccine

These expectations come after the European Medicines Agency approved the two modified vaccines against corona developed by “Biontech / Pfizer” and “Moderna”, which were adapted to the Omercon strain “BA1” (BA1).

The European Commission gave the green light to circulate the two vaccines in the European Union on Friday.

Although the BA1 strain no longer plays a dominant role in Germany, scientists say that the latest vaccines are also effective against the BA5 mutant, which is currently spreading throughout the country.

About 14 million doses of the modified vaccine produced by "Biontech/Pfizer" are scheduled to reach Germany within two weeks.

Cities and states then organize the next steps for vaccination campaigns.

Cancel the warning from Corona

Yesterday, Friday, the warning of corona injuries was canceled across Germany on the rapid warning service "Warnab Nina", and the application also confirmed the "warning cancellation".

However, the Federal Office, which is responsible for civil protection and disaster assistance, indicated that this wording was for technical reasons.

He added, "To avoid any misunderstanding: the Corona pandemic is still ongoing, and there is no cancellation of the warning status against it."

And the office indicated that the application has 3 cases of Corona status “warning, update, canceling the warning”, and therefore extracting the existing warning status in a “silent” image is not possible so far.

Therefore, the Corona warning was canceled nationwide under the technical title “End of Warning.”

Completely new mutants from Corona may appear this winter

Yesterday, the European Union Medicines Agency reported that completely new mutations of the Corona virus may appear this winter, but the currently available vaccines are supposed to protect against acute disease or death.

The comments came as the European Union prepared to launch a campaign of booster vaccines against Covid, ahead of a wave of infections feared to break out later this year.

These vaccines include a diverse mixture of recently licensed anti-Omicron vaccines, in addition to the original vaccines developed to combat the virus, according to the European Agency.

new mutant

But the European Agency's official in charge of vaccines, Marco Cavalieri, warned, saying that people "should not wait for a special vaccine."

"There may be a whole new mutant emerging that we can't anticipate today," Cavalieri said.

On Thursday, the agency gave approval for modified vaccines from Pfizer/Biontech and Moderna designed to combat the ancient PA1 mutant from Omicron.

A vaccine developed by Pfizer against the "BA4 & 5" strains (BA4 & 5) is expected to be licensed in mid-September, while Moderna is developing a similar vaccine.

Cavalieri added that these new modified Omicron vaccines will be widely used for booster doses for the elderly, vulnerable groups, pregnant women and health workers.

But the general public will instead have access to the original vaccines designed to combat the Wuhan strain.

Corona vaccines

Cavalieri pointed out that "the original vaccines are still able to protect against severe Covid-19 and death" even if they are less effective in preventing infection.

He did not rule out that the new mutant this winter will be closer to the proto-Omicron strains, which are now largely overtaken by the BA4 and BA5 types.
