Unemployment remains high in Ronneby.

In total, every tenth person lacks a job, which places the municipality in tenth place among the country's 290 municipalities.

The biggest problem is among those born abroad, where three out of ten are unemployed.

To address the problem, the municipality has, among other things, invested in start-up jobs, where foreign-born and long-term unemployed people have been given employment through agreements with municipal businesses and local organizations.

The language is the key

One who started his career in Ronneby with just a start-up job is Jalil Abdul, who today works as an integration coach at the municipality's navigator center - where he teaches about 40 job seekers in Swedish and computer skills, among other things.

- Among other things, we go through what the labor market looks like in Sweden, how to write a CV and how to find a job.

It's also a lot about motivation, he says.

Jalil Abdulmenar believes that the key to integration in both the labor market and in society is language.

- If we don't understand each other, parallel societies are created, with exclusion and poverty.
