A young man of 24 appeared this Thursday before the Criminal Court of Drôme.

He was accused of having started several fires in agricultural sheds in a single night in November 2019. Barns had burned in Geyssans and Parnans (Drôme).

The respondent also appeared for an attempted fire the same night in Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye (Drôme), indicates France Bleu Drôme Ardèche.

He had not acted alone but accompanied by two other people, aged 15 at the time.

The teens were previously given six and 12 month suspended prison sentences.

The defendant was also found guilty.

He was sentenced to a two-year suspended prison sentence and a two-year suspended sentence.

The three young people had challenged each other to set fire somewhere.

25 cows had perished in the flames, which had also caused material damage estimated at 700,000 euros.

In addition to the buildings, reserves of fodder and agricultural machinery had been destroyed.
