A month ago, Morocco issued a consular pass, a document that allows the expulsion by France of Imam Hassan Iquioussen.

But on Thursday, a source familiar with the matter told AFP that this pass has been suspended.

A suspension which would be justified by the “

 unilateral

” nature of the expulsion decision and a lack of consultation.

The French Council of State gave the green light on Tuesday to the expulsion of the 58-year-old imam, born in France, of Moroccan nationality, whose Youtube channel is followed by 178,000 subscribers.

The institution considers that its anti-Semitic discourse and its systematic discourse on the inferiority of women constitute acts of incitement to hatred.

The French Minister of the Interior has made Imam Iquioussen an emblem of the fight against those he describes as “

separatists

 ”.

Gérald Darmanin said Thursday that he would be arrested and placed in an administrative detention center if he returned to France.

For the time being, the preacher, who resides near Valenciennes, in the north of France, cannot be found.

He could be in Belgium.
