Skellefteå kraft's website was heavily overloaded on Thursday morning when over 1,000 people signed new cheap contracts with the company.

The prices that could be signed varied depending on where in the country the customers live, but according to Nina Munter who is the press officer at Skellefteå kraft, it was possible to find fixed agreements at prices between 3-10 öre per kilowatt hour.

In electricity areas 1 and 2, the actual price is 150-200 öre per kilowatt hour, and in electricity area three significantly more expensive.

- There was a system error during the night, which made it possible to sign extremely cheap electricity contracts via our site, my pages and the mobile app.

More than 1,000 customers from all over the country managed to sign contracts before the error was discovered.

We really regret that it has turned out this way, says Nina Munter.

What does this mean for the customers who signed the agreements?

- The agreements will not be valid.

We will contact all customers as quickly as possible and explain what happened.

But what do you do if people have canceled their contracts to take part in your offer, which is now no longer valid?

- We have not decided exactly how we will solve everything, but we have routines to follow.

Given the obviously incorrect prices, it should have been possible to guess that something was wrong, but as I said, we really regret that it turned out this way, says Nina Munter.
