China, Algeria, India, Belarus, Tajikistan, Mongolia and other countries sent troops to participate in the exercise.

At the opening ceremony, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yevkurov announced the start of the exercise, followed by speeches by the commanders of the participating troops from various countries and a separation ceremony.

  The reporter learned from the Chinese Joint Campaign Command that the exercise aims to deepen the pragmatic and friendly cooperation between the militaries of the participating countries, enhance the level of strategic cooperation among the participating parties, and enhance the ability to jointly deal with various security threats.

The exercise is divided into four stages: troop assembly and deployment, joint campaign planning, joint campaign implementation, and organized troop withdrawal.

The participating militaries jointly set up a director's department and a joint campaign command organization.

The Chinese participating troops are mainly composed of the army, navy and air force affiliated to the Northern Theater Command, with more than 2,000 troops, more than 300 vehicles (equipment) of various types, 21 fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, and 3 ships.

In the past ten days, the Chinese troops participating in the exercise have successfully carried out cross-border delivery tasks by means of motorized marching, railway transportation, maritime maneuvering, and air transportation.

  As one of the Russian military's four major strategic exercises, the "Oriental" series of exercises occupies an important position in the Russian military's exercise system.

The "Oriental-2022" exercise will be held at several training grounds and related waters in the Eastern Military Region of Russia and will last until September 7. The total number of troops participating in the exercise exceeds 50,000, and more than 5,000 pieces of weapons and equipment have been invested.
