Anyone who says R and deals with media things has to say B these days and then B again. Because the scandalous app that plays on the Berlin Brandenburg radio never ends and produces one punchline after the other.

The most recent riots: The four-person selection committee that is looking for an interim director noticed on Tuesday that they could not agree on a single proposal and had not yet heard all the interesting candidates.

Therefore, in the evening of the day - reasonably - the plan to elect a new broadcaster boss on Wednesday in the Broadcasting Council fell flat.

The question is not only who will be, but also whether the interim plan has been thought through.

The board of directors of the RBB has meanwhile decided to abolish the bonus system hatched under the aegis of the dismissed director Schlesinger and the resigned head of the board of directors Wolf.

That will go away and will not be reintroduced either, said the new head of the board of directors, Dorette König.

According to König, the bonus system "did not serve to motivate, but rather to arouse resentment and annoyance, and I find it a strong sign of the managers to offer to do without it with immediate effect".

Better late than never

This is a late insight, but better late than never.

The fact that the two control bodies of the RBB are finally doing their job is a good sign.

This is followed by the managing director and program director Jan Schulte-Kellinghaus.

He refused to discharge the management and the supervisory board of the advertising subsidiary RBB Media, and a managing director and Schlesinger confidant was dismissed.

The subsidiary plays a role in the network of consulting contracts allegedly managed by Schlesinger and Wolf, which are related to the construction project of the "Digital Media House", which has since been stopped.

There were bold plans for its financing, including recourse to the pension reserves of the employees.

The RBB Broadcasting Council is adjourned to next week, it will probably continue on September 7th.

And if the incumbent director Schulte-Kellinghaus continues to clean up, he buys time for the broadcasting council and offers himself for the interim.
