From the new academic year in Russian educational institutions, the use of mobile phones by students in the classroom is prohibited.

This was announced by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.

According to him, this decision was made "in accordance with the new sanitary rules."

“We have mobile phones from this school year in the classroom, I emphasize, it is not allowed to use.

On lessons.

So that mobile phones do not distract schoolchildren from classes, ”said Kravtsov, speaking at the All-Russian Parents' Meeting.

According to him, in case of an emergency, if you need to call, you should contact the responsible (teacher or class teacher):

“The use of mobile phones, you understand this very well, affects the health of babies and children, so this point should also be taken into account here.”

The head of the Ministry of Education also pointed out that the traditional full-time format is the main one for all schools, distance learning is not in the plans of the ministry.

“In general, information technology is only in addition to the traditional form of education,” Kravtsov explained.

- Therefore, there can be no electronic textbooks to replace traditional paper textbooks, there can be no electronic notebooks.

Ordinary notebooks, ordinary textbooks, a pen.

Everything we once had at school."

According to the Ministry of Education, all educational institutions in Russia are ready for the academic year.

About 17.5 million schoolchildren will go to general education institutions, which is about 500 thousand more than in 2021: “Among them, there are about two million first-graders.”

It should be noted that on August 30, presidential aide, former Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky at the Moscow teachers' council proposed to ban schoolchildren from using mobile phones during classes.

In his opinion, this initiative could be carried out as an experiment in one of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, for example, in Moscow.

“Let's put these smartphones away in the classroom - in some lockers.

The student went to school, left (smartphone) in the “locker”, parents are calm, ”Interfax quotes him.

“It is quite possible to do without mobile devices”

Svetlana Bessarab, member of the State Duma Committee on Labour, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, commenting on the decision to ban the use of mobile phones in the classroom, called it correct.

“Today, Russian schoolchildren often do not even try to memorize, learn to count correctly, count in their minds, but do it all with the help of their mobile devices, smartphones, and so on.

I think that schools will have to equip personal lockers where the child can leave their things, maybe some unnecessary textbooks, and change these items during the day.

This is a good practice that should be applied, including in Russian schools, ”said the RT interlocutor.

As the chairman of the Association of Parents' Committees and Communities of Russia Olga Letkova noted, the absence of mobile devices will make the learning process better.

“Because children are distracted, they don’t listen, many people play games... I’m not talking about the fact that they peep all the solutions on the control on the Internet.

In general, of course, this greatly disorganizes the educational process.

It is quite possible and necessary to do without mobile devices, ”the expert explained in an interview with RT.

In turn, State Duma Vice Speaker Boris Chernyshov believes that it is necessary to clarify exactly how the ban on the use of mobile phones in the classroom will be implemented.

«

For example, a child uses his mobile phone in a lesson - can the teacher influence this, and to what extent - what powers does he have?

Is the Ministry of Education ready to provide them to the teacher so that he can temporarily take away his phone from the child?

Have the officials included in the strategy for the implementation of their idea possible scandals in connection with such actions of the teacher, and will the ministry support teachers, or, conversely, students who are involved in this conflict situation?

After all, a schoolchild may refuse to give up a mobile phone - what is it permissible for a teacher to do in this situation?

No proposals were made on this matter

,

”the interlocutor of RT emphasized.

At the same time, according to him, in general, this decision is interesting from the point of view of the struggle for academic performance.

“For effective implementation, the idea must be fully developed.

We really hope that a number of proposals voiced during a large parent meeting by representatives of the Ministry of Education of Russia will be correctly implemented, and their actions will be aimed at restoring the status of the best education in the world to our education,” Chernyshov explained.
