In Köping, the election posters of the Social Democrats and the Center Party are particularly vulnerable to vandalism.

The leaders of the Center Party in Köping tell SVT Nyheter Västmanland that they are the hardest hit and that they believe it is connected to their views.

- The signs with the message about humanity are often broken, says Jenny Adolphson.

Immediate damage

The very day after the Center Party had put up its first billboards with election posters, the first vandalism took place.

- We noticed that our signs were lying down or had been kicked to pieces in many places, says Jenny Adolphson.

After that it has continued.

- Every night there is new vandalism of the signs, says Bernt Bergsten, chairman of the Center Party in Köping.

Don't give up

In some places they have therefore been slow to put up new signs, such as at Ullvigymnasiet where the vandalism happened too often.

- Last election we thought there was a lot of vandalism, but this year it is twice as much.

We have to find new places to set them up, we will not give up, says Bernt Bergsten.

The Center Party in Köping has reported the vandalism to the police.

The Moderates in Västerås are also affected and have reported to the police a video on social media where one of the party's election posters in Västerås is being kicked to pieces.

In the clip, Jenny Adolphson (C) and Bernt Bergsten (C) tell how the party deals with vandalism and security.
