The night BAC of Périgueux (Dordogne) arrested this Tuesday in a street of the city a man suspected of being the author of several robberies in the department.

The arrest took place after several hours of surveillance, shortly before 5 a.m., near a car that had been stolen during the first theft of the series, reports France Bleu Périgord.

The location of the vehicle led to the arrest.

The suspect is in his 50s.

He is already known to the courts for cases of burglary or robbery with violence and has been placed in police custody, the prosecution said.

Four robberies committed in the Périgueux sector are blamed on him.

Among them is the armed attack on a supermarket in Chancelade (Dordogne) on August 22.

The robber threatened two employees with his handgun and forced a client to hand over her car keys.

The individual left with a sum estimated at 2,000 euros by the store manager.
