Estonia proposes to disconnect even more Russian banks from SWIFT as part of sanctions

This was stated in an interview with Die Welt by Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu.

“We have already submitted concrete proposals to the European Commission on this matter.

They affect energy, trade, further restrictions on the SWIFT system and the inclusion of even more people and organizations on the sanctions list, ”RIA Novosti quotes the minister.

The current sanctions against Russia, in his opinion, are not enough.

Reinsalu expressed hope that the eighth package of sanctions would be introduced as soon as possible.

Earlier, The Economist wrote that the sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia are not working as well as these countries expected.
