In detail, Major General Jamal Al Jallaf stated that Dubai Police is working proactively to protect children from the dangers of the Internet through electronic patrols that monitor and apprehend those involved in downloading or sharing films or pornographic content related to children because they are potential aggressors in the future. Posting this content is a crime in itself.

He added that the electronic patrols carried out actual seizures and recorded criminal reports against a group of people, pointing out that they exchange this content through programs that do not appear on the usual Internet, and Dubai Police has specialists who can track and control these disordered people.

He pointed out that the work team includes two officers who have been trained at the highest level and have obtained advanced international courses in this field, and they exchange experiences with an international team concerned with combating child crimes globally, and one of them recently traveled to participate in a high-level meeting in this regard.

Al-Jallaf explained that the work team specialized in combating crimes targeting children can monitor these practices, as soon as any films are uploaded and shared with others, whether it is from inside or outside the country, and there is international cooperation at the highest level in this aspect.

He added that the role of Dubai Police is not limited to monitoring, combating and reducing crime before it occurs, but rather extending to awareness through workshops and lectures targeting all relevant groups, starting with children and students, passing through parents, teachers and social workers in schools and universities to raise awareness of these crimes and how to avoid them.

For his part, Deputy Director of the Anti-Cybercrime Department, Major Abdullah Al-Shehhi, said that there are preventive steps that the parties concerned with protecting children must abide by, and the administration is keen to educate them about this during workshops and lectures, especially the children themselves, as they must be careful in dealing with strangers. , especially through electronic games, they must close this door permanently, as they can play but without entering into conversations with anyone unknown to them, and this must be done under the supervision of parents.

He added that the administration had earlier arrested an adult accused who lured nine children ranging in age from nine to 10 years through the famous "Fortnite" game and tried to blackmail them after obtaining pictures of them, using a malicious method to lure them with money to increase their points and balances in the game, but the Dubai Police caught him thanks to informing The tenth child about him.

He explained that the incident revealed when the tenth child told his mother that someone in the chat room of the “Fortnite” game offered him money in exchange for sending private pictures to him. And found in his possession 200 pictures belonging to children, he was planning to blackmail and harass them, and the incident shocked the family of the accused, who was a university student, and silence dominated his father after discovering the dark side of his son's life.

Al-Shehhi stressed that the situation in this incident would have been different if the first child had reported being tempted, lured and blackmailed, pointing to the importance of rapprochement with children and enhancing their confidence so that they would tell their parents about anything they face, as many children are afraid of being punished if they reveal these practices to their parents, Because some parents deal with the son as a party to the problem and not a victim.

He explained that the strong relationship between the tenth child and his mother was a main reason for informing her of what he had been exposed to, and given that she had a degree of culture and awareness, she informed the police, which contributed to the arrest of the accused, who could have lured other victims had he not been arrested.
