A brave little dog saved the life of its owner after being attacked by a giant black bear.

According to the US Newsweek report on the 24th local time, Susan Lee, 61, was walking with her dogs Jack Russell Terrier and Labradoodles in Strafford, Vermont on the 20th when she heard a loud noise somewhere.

Susan turned her head toward the sound and was terrified.

A large black bear was charging towards him.

Susan, who was running away from the black bear quickly chasing her, stumbled over a stone wall and fell, and the black bear bit off Susan's leg.

At that time, one of Susan's dogs, a Jack Russell Terrier, barked fiercely at the black bear, and the black bear, crushed by the momentum, stopped attacking Susan and ran away.

Thanks to this, Susan was able to push his body and return home safely with another dog, the Labradoodle.

The black bear bitten Susan's left leg with a 7cm long wound, but fortunately it was not life-threatening.

The Vermont Wildlife Department, which investigated the location of Susan's attack, explained that the black bear that attacked Susan at the time was a warning attack on Susan, who suddenly appeared as a mother bear with her cubs.

"Although black bear attacks are very rare in Vermont, the mother bears protect their cubs as they migrate in families around this time of the year," said Jacqueline Como, a bear biologist at the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife. It's important to step back slowly and counterattack immediately when attacked."

Vermont said it would not track the black bear's location as it was not an aggressive attack.

Meanwhile, the jack russell terrier, a small dog that saved its owner's life, is a species made for hunting foxes and usually grows from 25 to 31 cm tall.

Although they are loyal to their owners, they are also known for being highly aggressive.
