It is via Twitter and Instagram that 275,000 Internet users came forward to determine the aesthetic characteristics of this special series limited to 999 copies.

We will leave you alone to judge the final result: a black color with golden stickers, golden rims and red brake calipers.

Remarkable seats

Small disappointment on boarding: given the external clutter, we are looking for a more spacious cabin.

That said, we console ourselves very quickly with the excellent bucket seats, which are remarkably comfortable and supportive.

We who have a long way to go, that's good.

On the other hand, on the storage side, Ford was rather stingy.

Still, the most disturbing point is the slow reaction of the infotainment system, and more particularly of the navigation, especially when using Android Auto: after touching the screen, you sometimes have to show yourself very patient to get a reaction from the device.

A good point, however, for the very easy activation of the lane keeping system (from the turn signal control) which does not reactivate on each start.

A chassis at the top

From the outset, the Puma ST-Line X Gold Edition sets the tone: its front axle is super incisive and shows a really surprising dynamic potential.

As on a sports car, the steering wheel commands very direct steering, which we appreciate all the more because it allows impeccable heading stability.

As you will have understood, on winding roads, this small SUV is a real treat.

Especially since its 155 hp engine (also available in 125 hp) really does not lack drive.

In addition to a very worked sound, it is very available from the lowest revs and takes its turns with great avidity.

This is undoubtedly another strong point of the model.

The damping, on the other hand, is very firm.

But hey, in the case of a sports car, should we be surprised?

At the end of a journey of more than 2,000 km mainly carried out on departmental roads, adopting a calm driving style, but without depriving us of the dynamic potential of the machine, consumption has always remained between 7 and 8 l /100km.

The Puma ST-Line X Gold Edition is billed at €32,900.

Considering its benefits, this seems rather fair to us.

There is already a Ford Puma from €26,500.
