Dubai Police invites drivers to sign a “pledge” .. and warns of a violation of 12 “black” points

Dubai Police announced the launch of the "A Day Without Accidents" campaign at the beginning of the school year next Monday, based on the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri. The signing of a “pledge” document of commitment to safe driving, in addition to holding raffles to select committed drivers who participated in the initiative.

Brigadier General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic in Dubai Police, said that the campaign comes within the framework of the Dubai Police General Command's keenness to ensure that the day students return to their schools is without accidents by educating drivers, noting that the campaign is implemented in cooperation with internal and external partners of the Dubai Police. Dubai, in addition to community members who are partners in the success of the campaign at the beginning of the school year.

He pointed out the Dubai Police's keenness to encourage drivers' compliance with the traffic law in order to enhance their safety and the security of other road users, stressing the importance of adhering to the stop sign for school buses, and not exceeding it, as exceeding this sign is a fine of 1,000 dirhams in addition to "black" traffic points, according to the traffic law.

He stressed that the campaign has achieved great success during the past three years, and contributed to reducing the accident rate on the first day of school in Dubai and not registering deaths, pointing out that the campaign is launched under the slogan "Together to make Dubai's streets safer."

He called on drivers to adhere to speed, not to use mobile phones while driving, to adhere to lanes, not to be distracted by the road with other matters while driving, and for school bus drivers to abide by public safety standards 


. It is implemented in the fourth year in a row, and it has proven remarkable success in achieving strategic driving indicators by reducing the percentage of accidents in the entire Emirate of Dubai during the past year, so it is launched annually, reminding you of the importance of the school year being without accidents, and unifying the efforts of work teams to achieve traffic indicators. 

He added that the awareness campaign aims to involve drivers in responsibility, and community members to unite together to enhance safety from accidents leading to deaths, through awareness messages, explaining that committed participants will enter a draw for valuable prizes at the end of the campaign.

He revealed the issuance of certificates of participation in the "A Day Without Accidents" initiative via the campaign's website on the official Dubai Police website, which contains a "pledge document" for drivers and community members, through which they can participate in the campaign and sign a package of commitments after registering their names.
