It is about a 38-page testimony from an anonymous FBI agent, a so-called affidavit, which explains why they wanted to search Trump's properties in Florida.

The document is heavily masked – eleven pages are censored in their entirety so as not to reveal sources or disclose information that is sensitive to the ongoing investigation, writes Reuters.

In the introduction to the testimony, it is stated that there is an ongoing criminal investigation regarding "inappropriate movement and storage of classified information" and "illegal withholding of government documents".

Classified documents

The document contains no new details about the classified documents seized by the FBI during the raid.

However, new information is emerging about the 15 boxes that the US National Archives requested back from Trump earlier in January this year.

In those boxes, 184 documents were found that were classified as security, of which 25 documents were marked "top secret", according to the testimony.

"There is probable cause to believe that additional documents containing classified information relating to national defense [...] are currently located at the address," the document states.

According to the FBI agent, there was also reason to believe that evidence of obstruction of justice would be found at the scene.

The document was made public by order of Judge Bruce Reinhart due to the unusually large public interest in the investigation, AP writes.

It is otherwise unusual for similar documents to be made public at this stage of the investigation.
