Storm "Ma-on" kills 7, injures 7 in the Philippines

Three people were killed and at least four others were injured due to Tropical Storm Ma-On that hit the Philippines, while the storm is heading towards southeast China, according to the Philippine Disaster Management Agency.

The agency said in a statement today that two people have been confirmed dead in the mountainous provinces of Kalinga and Cagayan, while a drowning person is being investigated in the eastern province of Camarines Sur.

Ma-on, with a speed of 110 kilometers per hour, made landfall in the northeastern Philippines on Tuesday, bringing torrential rains that inundated local communities and triggered landslides.
