“Shoigu brought assessments of the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that could disrupt the safe operation of the station,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The ministers noted the importance of visiting ZNPP by IAEA staff.

They also expressed their readiness to assist the inspectors.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in a telephone conversation with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, said that Kyiv, continuing to shell the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, puts the whole of Europe at risk of a nuclear catastrophe.

Prior to this, it was reported that the IAEA is consulting with all parties on the issue of sending an agency mission to the Zaporozhye NPP as soon as possible.
