In 2021, public TCM medical institutions in mainland cities will recruit Hong Kong-registered TCM practitioners on a pilot basis.

The measures will also allow participating Chinese medicine practitioners to accumulate clinical experience in inpatient services, which will benefit professional development and reserve more key talents for the first Chinese medicine hospital in Hong Kong in the future.

  In order to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the training of TCM clinical talents, the SAR government and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine signed the "Cooperation Agreement on the Training of Senior TCM Clinical Talents" to train young TCM physicians with higher qualifications to make them highly qualified.   Lu Chongmao also said that the SAR government is currently building Hong Kong's first Chinese medicine hospital, which is expected to be put into service in stages from 2025.
