According to the senator, these appeals of the Latvian authorities can be seen as a "prologue" to ethnic cleansing.

“When the inhabitants of a country in the so-called European democracy are declared an isolated part of society, one can only state that this is the revival of Hitlerism in the 21st century,” he told Izvestia.

Perminov also stressed that Russophobia in Latvia has reached a criminal level.

Earlier, the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, called for isolating the Russian-speaking residents of the republic who do not support the anti-Russian course of Riga.
